NPS® New Performance Slim-System is a complete and flexible modular system developed by Tecnostrutture. It consists of composite steel-concrete beams and columns, made from up to 93% recycled steel and equipped with an Environmental Product Declaration based on Life Cycle Assessment per kg of product.

The NPS® System Life Cycle

NPS® System contributes to reducing environmental impact throughout the life cycle and to obtaining LEED and DGNB credits.

Produced in the factory, the elements are assembled on site in total self-supporting manner, eliminating the need for temporary formwork and shoring, thus speeding up construction time. After concrete casting, NPS® results in a composite structure with characteristics that comply with the performance levels required by the Eurocodes and Italian NTC 2018.

History of NPS®

1967

REP® beam was born

In 1967, engineer Salvatore Leone designed a composite metal beam for slabs and roofs, anticipating the REP® beam, whose patent was filed on 28 July.

1968

First REP® calculation procedure

In 1968, realising the potential of information technology, he developed the first calculation procedure for REP® beams, which was refined over the following years and subsequently published in 1972.

1969

First Positive Opinion of the C.S.LL.PP. on REP®

On 24 March 1969, the Italian Higher Council of Public Works expressed its first positive opinion on the employed REP® technology. Subsequent opinions were issued in 1986, 1997, 1998 and 2000.

From 1972

Deposit of further REP® Patents

From 1972, the original beam built with a single core was followed by the deposit of subsequent patents that extended the REP® range, introducing design variations and improving the performance of the system.

2000-2012

Tecnostrutture and REP®

In 2000, Tecnostrutture s.r.l. began collaboration for the production and distribution of the REP System.
From 2001 Tecnostrutture began an intense research activity both in Italy and abroad on beams and columns, on the seismic resistance of REP® nodes and on the rigidity of structures.

NPS® is born

The evolution of composite concrete structures, NPS®, is Tecnostrutture’s high-performance, seismic-resistant construction technology, including beam, column, slab and certified CE EN-1090-1.
