Expansion of Marco Polo Airport in Venice

At Venice Airport, we completed a job in a very tight timeframe with complex and critical work in progress. The project involved enlarging the baggage area to extend the hold baggage checks, all automated up to the aircraft.

NPS BASIC steel plate beams combined with NPS PDTI columns with a diameter of 1 metre and a plate thickness of 30 millimetres were used to construct the building. Impressive structures that required 150 hours of machining per pillar.
Another special feature of the project was the assembly of the bracing, which was pre-assembled in the workshop to test fit the structure so that we could arrive at the construction site and proceed with the work, avoiding potential mishaps. We meticulously studied all the steps to facilitate a fast assembly in the limited space of the construction site.
