School complex, Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila

A 5,828 m2 school complex accommodating 675 pupils. Conceived by 1AX Associati with a multifunctional gallery, the organisational hub of the complex that allows the three schools to have communal, entrance and meeting spaces.
A demolition and reconstruction project that began in July 2019 and opened in September 2021. NPS^® beams and columns were chosen as an alternative to the traditional system because they can jointly offer a seismic-resistant frame, native fire resistance and long spans.
